Reed Exhibitions has announced that it will not hold Apple Expo Paris in 2009. Apple previously pulled out of the 2008 show, and the future of the show has been in question for several years due to Apple’s diminished presence. The company has not held a keynote presentation at the event since Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing Phil Schiller introduced the iMac G5 during his 2004 address. Apple Expo Paris Closes its Doors

... Apple's pull out from Macworld Expo Boston ultimately led to the show's demise. Apple has been slowly pulling back from the Paris event, too. In 2004, Phil Schiller delivered the keynote while Mr. Jobs was recovering from pancreatic cancer, and in 2005 and 2006 Apple backed out of delivering a keynote presentation. While the Paris event may be defunct, IDG has stated that Macworld Expo 2010 in San Francisco is still on even though Apple won't participate. [Thanks to Macworld for the heads up.]
