iPhone 3.0 Special Event Announced Today

According to invitations sent out, Apple will be holding a special event on March 17, 2009 to discuss the iPhone 3.0.
The new version of the iphone was speculated to be a hardware update, but with the announcement of this meeting we could be seeing just a software update or both.
I’m not going to speculate as to what they will announce we’ll just have to wait and see.

... this upgrade will be applicable to earlier versions of the phone. I think it’s safe to say that at some point Apple is going to have to say we need to replace our old phone to get the new stuff. This just might be that time since they are even giving this preview.
So what do you hope we see in iPhone 3.0? Is there anything in particular you really need to be there? If Apple does require a new handset to get 3.0, what feature(s) would compel you to do so?
