Over 1.5 Billion App Store Downloads in First Year
Touch Podium —
... Apple also announces, within the same press release, that they’ve shipped out over 40 million iPod touch and iPhone devices over the years, all of which run the Apple App Store.
These numbers will only grow larger as the days pass. It won’t be long before Apple has over 100,000 applications available within the App Store. Personally, seeing as the rate of submissions keeps raising, I give it until the end of the 2009 year.

... apps means that we are seeing about 5416 apps added every month or roughly 180 every day. In terms of downloads, that looks to be about 125 million per month or roughly a little more than 4 million per day. Strangely, though, those 65,000 apps have come from “over 100,000 developers,” which means that there are about 35,000 developers that have never submitted an app. Of course, that does not take into consideration the fact that many developers have already submitted multiple apps.
