MacRumors : Mac News and Rumors —
Mac Rumors Daring Fireball confirms the leaked MacBook Pro photos from earlier this evening and adds some intriguing details about the new notebook. Specifically, Gruber confirms that the new MacBook Pros will have "buttonless" trackpad which is made of glass. However, it appears the entire trackpad is one large button: The new trackpad is similar to the Airs, in that it is bigger and supports additional multi-touch gestures. But unlike the Airs, the MacBook Pros new trackpad is made of glass, and is a button itself. You just press and it clicks. In addition, he ...
Final Apple Notebook Scuttlebutt Before Bedtime
Technologizer —
[image] This is, I’m reasonably sure, the last time I’ll write in any detail about what Apple may announce tomorrow at its notebook event. I’m about to hit the hay, and will be at the event itself not too long after I wake up. But information (some of which may turn out to be misinformation) is still hitting the blogosphere, and I thought a quick update made sense. First of all, if you read only one more pre-event post, make it this one by Daring Fireball’s John Gruber . He’s the furthest thing from a rumormonger, and he seems quite positive about the following:–the new MacBook ...
MacBook Pro Pictures and Details Leaked: No Mouse Button, Black Bezel and Two Video Cards
Wired: Gadget Lab —
... The real test of these pictures, though, is whether or not they make the current models look immediately dated. The answer is a big "yes". Jesus Diaz over at Gizmodo has mocked up a picture based on these new shots and it is gorgeous. That black (still too-big) bezel, the squared-off (and rather brick-like) base and the optically thin curved lid all make me want one. Anybody want to buy a slightly used, 2.4GHz MacBook Pro?

Last Minute MacBook Rumors: Entire Glass Trackpad Is a Button, Pro Has TWO Graphics Cards, and More [Rumor]
Gizmodo —
John Gruber, who foretold the Oct. 14 event many moons ago, has just dropped what appears to be the motherload of what'll be announced. Besides confirming the spy shot, he confirms what I thought when I saw there wasn't a separate mouse button—the entire trackpad (which is glass) is a button, kind of like the BlackBerry Storm's screen. You just push it down, it clicks. Two bits on the Pro side: There isn't a new 17-inch model. Whether it'll show up later (like the original 17-inch MacBook Pro) or will fade into history is unknown, but ...

The redesigned laptop will also have a MacBook-style magnetic latch and the same chiclet-style keyboard that is currently used in the MacBook, MacBook Air, and the Apple Wireless Keyboard. No surprises there. The 13" MacBook will gain an aluminum casing, matching its MacBook Pro and MacBook ...
