... With the introduction of the new iPod touch, Apple has posted a new ad (shown off in the keynote) demoing the new features. Amazingly enough, they choose to show off mostly 3rd party applications -- and mostly games, at that. This ad makes Apple look as though they're treating the iPod touch as a portable gaming machine, not an iPod or music device. They don't even show off the Genius feature, or new firmware features. Catchy songs in iPod commercials are nothing new and I'm glad Apple continued their trend of picking great, relatively unknown tracks for the two iPod ads released yesterday -- I especially like the oh-so-cute iPod nano one.
Curiously, Apple doesn't show next to the commercials on its website what music is used, which is kind of odd considering a) it's not a hard thing to do at all, b) they're using the darn music and c) it would give the artist tremendous exposure. Tell me if I'm missing something, because if it's there, it's certainly not ...
