Is This What the New iPod Nano Will Look Like? [Rumor]
Gizmodo —
Kevin Rose's Apple crystal ball has been wrong more often than not (he was sorta right about $199 iPhone), but this time he's seen a picture! He says that not only will the new iPod nano be tall and skinny and giant-screened like we've heard, he says it'll be rounded (like if the whole iPhone was shaped like its ass-side), and even provides a handy rendering. His other rumorage is all way more reasonable than his past forecasting, so they're actually possible too! ...

Gizmodo —
Kevin Rose's Apple crystal ball has been wrong more often than not (he was sorta right about $199 iPhone), but this time he's seen pictures ("and it looks pretty cool")! He says that not only will the new iPod nano be tall and skinny and giant-screened like we've heard, he says it'll be rounded (like iPhone 3G's ass-side, but all the way around), and even provides a handy rendering. His other rumorage, like a huge iTunes update is all way more reasonable than his past forecasting, so they're actually possible too! ...

New iPod Nano? Sure. This One? I’m Skeptical.
Technologizer —
... Digg’s Kevin Rose has blogged that new, cheaper iPods will arrive in the next two or three weeks. That I can believe. (I’d bet on the outer edge of the prediction timewise or even a bit later, since Apple will almost certainly need a little time to invite journalists to a press event to roll out the new line.) But Rose has also posted a photo of what is supposedly the new iPod Nano in a skinny form factor that looks more like the original Nano than the current, more squarish design: ...
Rumor: Kevin Rose goes double entendre on new iPod nanos
Infinite Loop —
... 2006. Two capacities, four and eight gigs. I think we're talking $249 and $449, like a pretty big price difference between the four and eight gigs flash memory, slide-out keyboard. . .and I believe touchscreen on the outside-I'm not sure though. Before you sniff and dismiss his rumor-fu, he also said the iPhone would be running a variant of Mac OS X, which was correct. Well, Rose now has another prediction involving Mac OS X, but he mostly goes on about iPods in a video via his personal blog . The biggest change in the lineup will be the reintroduction of the ...

We'll soon be able to check the accuracy of Kevin's sources. He says all this will happen in the next two to three weeks.

Come September: iPods
Macworld —
... a letterboxed three-hour epic gives even the most robust of us a crashing headache. With the advent of the iPhone and iPod touch, those who enjoy video on the go are accustomed to watching that video in a widescreen view and on a display that can’t be covered with their thumb. So, that means a nano with a wide screen. And that’s accomplished by returning to the old form factor—the hunk-o’-beef-jerky long iPod nano—and turning the thing on its side to watch video. Digg’s Kevin Rose has foretold just such an iPod (complete with a picture he claims is a prototype of the device) ...

Tomorrow's Big Apple Surprise? ITunes Subscriptions
Wired: Gadget Lab —
... the fabled tablet Mac (with unicorn-horn antenna). Others think it will be a touchscreen MacBook Pro. I call nonsense on these.
September's Apple Events have, for the last few years, been all about the iPod, with some iTunes announcements thrown in. A new Nano isn't enough to hire a bigger venue and encourage the press to fill it up. And a few new widescreen iPods certainly isn't a major "product transition". The evidence here all points to a brand new iTunes.
Kevin Rose predicted the Nano 4G, and in the same blog post hinted at iTunes 8: (it's a big update w/new ...

Folks have been waiting for significantly new MacBooks for so long that the spyshots of them, or products that claim to be them, are queuing up. Here’s one from a few months ago–a little crisper than today’s image, but almost as confusing: [image] But the most famous Apple spy shot of 2008 (so far!) was probably Kevin Rose’s image of a new iPod Nano which, I’m ashamed to say, I thought was probably a fake even though Apple did, indeed, release Nanos that looked just like ...
