Prices start at just $599, but tick all those option buttons and you'll be looking at something closer to $2,000 -- a lot, but close to $1,000 less than a comparably spec'd Mac Pro. Psystar Thumbs Apple, Rolls Out New Mac Clone
The Mac Observer — ... newest computer in its case. Psystar is hoping the court will rule in its favor, but the odds may be against the company. "Psystar is unlikely to win the right to install OS X on its Open Computers, but this lawsuit is going to take a long time," one attorney said. A long legal battle with Apple will likely cause more harm that good for Psystar, and could drive the company out of business. Plus there’s no monitor, keyboard, or mouse included. Basically, it’s a more expandable Mac mini with fewer built-in niceties. Oh, yeah, and it’s an unauthorized hack—but you already knew that.
