Apple Looking Into ‘Today’ Notification Screen for iPhone

I know for a fact that I could use a feature such as this. I’d welcome the introduction of said ‘Today’ notification screen in a 2.2 firmware update, or something along the lines of such. I am personally getting an iPhone 3G in mid-December, so here’s to hoping that the ‘Today’ screen is implemented into the iPhone’s firmware by then.

While this is potentially good news for iPhone users in general, it's potentially bad news for the makers of IntelliScreen, a jailbroken app whose similar functionality stands to be smashed into a bloody pulp if the House of Jobs has, in fact, locked up those enhancements with the US Patent Office.
