... Snow Leopard on it, Psystar is now selling software that lets you put OS X on any new PC. You can actually download a trial version yourself before you hand over your $50. Keep in mind that you'll need to have a machine with one of these processors in order for this to work: Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, i7 or Xeon Nehalem. ... selling Rebel EFI software on their site. The software allows users to install OS X on any old Intel-based PC for the low price of $50. Well not any old Intel. You'll need a Core 2Duo, Core 2 Quad, i7 or Xeon Nehalem to run Snow Leopard. The software reportedly works with Windows 7. Of course you could just save your money and check out the OSx86 project for free information on how to accomplish the same thing without dipping into your wallet. Via The Loop

... if you are attempting such a thing. Second, and more importantly, there's the issue of licensing: Apple prohibits the installation of Mac OS X on non Apple-branded machines.
Psystar giveth and Psystar must also taketh. One wonders how Psystar will react when people illegally use Rebel EFI, just like Psystar is allegedly misusing Mac OS X, as pirated versions inevitably circulate around the Interwebs.

Psystar selling software to run Snow Leopard on generic hardware

... explaining how to install Snow Leopard on Rebel EFI, there's nothing on the Web site that explains what will work. Besides in-app support, anybody brave enough to give Rebel EFI a try is really on their own. Rebel EFI is being offered now for $50, down from the "regular" price of $90. A trial is available that will let you use Rebel EFI with limited functionality for up to two hours, but we honestly have no idea what will happen after two hours. [via The Loop ]
