Say what you will about the ‘Get a Mac’ series, but you gotta hand it to Apple in terms of sheer persistence. They’ve already released about fifty odd TV spots of the familiar duo of Long and Hodgman and around ten of these banner ads, and they just don’t seem to let up.
Not that I’m complaining, mind you, because their latest web ad on NYTimes.com had me chuckling right from the get go. Call me easily amused, but the image of John Hodgman taking a broken needle and pointing it towards the lower end of the meter just makes for good tele… er, “webvision”?

Apple Insider started the ball rolling, reporting that Apple was considering replacing the bottom portion of the MacBook Air — currently hewn by artisans from solid bricks of aluminium — with a section made of carbon fibre. This would likely yield a weight saving of a few crucial ounces. But trust someone who knows what they’re talking about to come along and spoil our speculation.
