Firemint 3GS Real Racing Tech Demo
Touch Arcade — Firemint's Real Racing [App Store] is the game to show people when you're showing off the graphical capabilities of your phone, the immersion experienced in the cockpit view, and how much fun it is racing with the remarkably lifelike AI. I even made note of how great it felt playing against the AI opponents who actually play like people do when playing against others online in my review of  Real Racing: Real Racing is an entirely different animal. In my previous hands-on, first impressions post I mentioned how great the AI is, and countless races later I still feel this is Real ...

iPhone 3G Vs iPhone 3GS - Real Racing
The iPhone User Guide — Firemint have posted this on their blog. Firemint are the makers of Real Racing on the iPhone. Real Racing has up to six cars on the track at any one time. Since the game uses a high fidelity physics engine, adding cars is a good test for pushing the hardware. We started our tech demo with 8 cars on the track, then 10, 12, 16 and 20, and the 3GS still didn’t break a sweat. We finally stopped when we got to 40 cars on the track at the same time, still with no perceptible drop in frame rate. We think the results are mind blowing. Related iPhone News July ...

New video shows iPhone 3GS gaming potential
Macworld — Posted on by Peter Cohen , Macworld.com Firemint — publishers of Flight Control and Real Racing — have posted a new YouTube video showing off what they describe as a tech demo that shows off the gaming potential of the iPhone 3GS. Real Racing is Firemint’s 3D racing game, which puts you in the driver’s seat as you carom around tracks in three different classes of automobile. Right now, the game is limited to six on-screen cars at a time, but Firemint’s tech demo shows the iPhone 3GS with up to 40 cars on-screen at once. “Since the game uses a high fidelity physics engine, adding cars is a good test for pushing the hardware. We started our ...

Article: iPhone 3GS Gems: AirCoaster, Blue Skies 3GS, Rockchinko 3GS Edition, and Surroundead Ep. 2
iLounge | All Things iPod, iPhone, iTunes and beyond — When Apple released the iPhone 3GS, it made few specific claims about the new device’s performance—the new model was roughly 2 times faster than its predecessor, it said, and offered “updated 3D graphics” capabilities that developers could tap into. But what did these vague promises really mean? Clues began to emerge in the form of demonstration videos, including a highly impressive 40-car version of Firemint’s Real Racing ...
