New iControlpad video playing Quake 4 on the iPhone
Macenstein —
Behold ZodTTD’s latest iControlPad demo – this time playing Quake 4. As waxy and floppy looking as this thing is, I want 4 of them.
Hopefully it will come in orange or something cooler when the production models come out, but it could be pink with little bears and ducks and I would buy it, [...]
iControlPad Thumbed on Video, Only Works With Homebrew Games [Gamepads]
Gizmodo —
The iControlPad bore many signs of vaporware: desirability, no official authorization and a low budget. We now know that there's at least one working version, and that promises of production aren't, you know, lies. Here we can see the iControlPad wrapped around an iPhone, playing Quake. It works! But a few things stand out. First, there' a discernible lag. This is probably a software issue, as I can't imagine where along this short line of hardware connections that kind of latency could crop up. The developers say they'll have bits of source code ready for developers who want to include controls in their apps, so I hope it's a little more ...

The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) —
Filed under: Analysis / Opinion, Gaming, Odds and ends, Mods, iPhone, App Store, iPod touch It's pretty wild to have seen the iControlPad go from idea to concept to production, and here's the final step straight from Engadget: video of the device working just as planned. ZodTTD is playing quake4iphone on it, and while the naysayers will probably still have some nays to say, I'm convinced. If Apple is as serious as it seems about turning the iPhone and the iPod touch into serious gaming devices, it would be worth ...
Functional iControlPad Gaming Prototype In Action (Video)
MacBlogz - One Stop Apple News —
The first prototype of the iControlPad gaming pad definitely looked promising. Bringing extrenal input buttons and a directional pad to Apple’s purely touch interface handhelds is seen by many people as a must. For gaming, we definitely agree.
A developer that goes by ZodTTD has posted the above video of him using the iControlPad to play quake4iphone on a jailbroken iPhone. As Engadget notes, there’s still no word on availability or pricing.
As we’ve previously covered, Apple definitely touts the ...
iControlPad Update, New Demonstration Video
Touch Arcade —
The folks at iControlPad have posted an update to their development blog indicating that, although it took longer than they had hoped, their gaming control accessory (which we first covered back in May) now works with all devices in the iPhone famliy: original iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod touch.
The post indicates that both Jailbreak and App Store developers are able to support the iControlPad in their titles if they choose.
The have also posted a demonstration video that shows a white prototype unit in use. (The final, production unit will be black in color.)

iControlPad Plays Quake -- Still Doesn't Play With App Store
iSmashPhone —
Coupla weeks ago, we told you about iControlPad, which wrapped a Nintendo-style controller around your iPhone -- and that jailbroken apps maker ZodTTD had an evaluation copy of same. Now comes the fruits of their labor, as ZodTTD reveals an upcoming port of Quake will utilize the iControlPad: ...
iControlPad for iPhone gets a change
The iPhone User Guide —
iControlPad, a physical control pad in the works for the iPhone has received a huge design change according to the creators. In February a test run of the originally designed prototypes shipped.
Feedback suggested that the design work but needed to be altered for each iPhone model, the controls were a bit cramped and the unit was quite large to carry. We were not 100% happy with this. If we are going to do this we want to do it right. As some of you know we have access to the parts used on the openPandora handheld - which has dual analogue nubs.
A sleepless night then resulted a huge design ...
