Reporting from GCDC 2008, PocketGamer.co.uk was demoed a new iPhone racing game called Real Racing. Australian developer Firemint shows off what appears to be a very promising accelerometer-based iPhone game:

Australian developer Firemint have been showing off their new mobile racing game, Real Racing, which could make an appearance on the iPhone's AppStore by Christmas. In the video below you can see the graphics capabilities of the iPhone as a gaming platform, as well as Real Racing's use of the accelerometer. Gaming will either be one-player or head-to-head over either your carrier's network or via WiFi.

‘Real Racing’ Game May Be Coming to the iPhone

Firemint has recently made available a video of a racing game on the iPhone they call Real Racing. It is not fully known if Real Racing will make it to the App Store, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t eventually be available.
The video demos the game being played on an iPhone. As you can see if you were to watch the video below, the game features a dashboard-view, and an overhead-view.
What’s more is that this game is supposed to support multiplayer head-to-head racing via Wi-Fi, and feature social networking capabilities (show off your race time results on Facebook, Myspace, etc.)

Titled Real Racing , it features accelerometer-based driving, but also the rare option of head-to-head play over Wi-Fi or cellular networks, including support for creating mini-leagues with friends.
